FAQ

What do you mean by Homegrown member? How do I become one?

Homegrown members include any person on Kumeyaay land (San Diego/Tijuana), and especially those who are 13-25 years old.  Membership could look like varying levels of commitment. Low commitment might include only attending or participating in programs, whereas average commitment may involve joining a team and attending regular meetings.

This isn’t a formula though– what a “member” does is completely up to you! The way you want to be a part of Homegrown is always changeable ♡ If you’re interested, please fill out this form.

Note: We are also in the process of building an intergenerational core team for folks who are willing/able to commit to a heavy leadership role. If you’re interested in developing Homegrown in this way, please email Winter at admin@homegrownyouthcollab.com.

I want to become involved in Homegrown, but not take on a leadership role. Can I do that?

Yes! People who want to participate in our events, projects, etc. are just as important as those who want to lead them. Our programs are still in development, so you’ll have to check back this fall (or sign up for our mailing list for updates!). In the meantime, help us get to know you by filling out our Interest Form.

I want to support. How can I do that?

There are so many ways to support us! If you’d like to make a one-time donation, you can donate to our PayPal. Sharing our project helps just as much– you can support us by sharing Homegrown with young people you know and following us on Instagram. You can also follow along with our work by subscribing to our mailing list, or joining our mentor directory.

I have an idea for a program and/or I want to host my event in collaboration with Homegrown. Can you support me with that?

YES! We are always open to collaborations. Let us know how we could support each other by emailing us with the subject: Collaboration Proposal.

My question wasn’t on the FAQ!
